Three new trees on High Street

Way back in 2021 we canvassed residents on High Street on planting some new trees on the verge outside 29 and 31, as part of a larger tree plan for the village. Only one got planted at the time and it was not the preferred option and was likely to grow too tall. This was removed today and three planted as per the 2021 plan, as follows;

1. Quince (2 off) – Meeches Prolific bush
Eventual height in good conditions 3 meter, lovely large pink blossoms in spring.

2. Winter blossoming cherry – Prunus autumnalis
Eventual height in good conditions 4 meter. Stunning autumn colour.

These will be an attractive addition to the High Street. Local residents are kindly watering them for us this year  to help them establish, which is greatly appreciated.
