Local Gov set’s up home at Marleigh

Local Government has setup home in the Hanger Building at Marleigh with the opening of the new Fen Ditton Parish Councils offices.

Representatives from South Cambs County, District and Parish Councils, along with Hill-Marshall marked this watershed occasion with a few bubbles at the opening of the new Fen Ditton Parish Council offices at Marleigh. Having an onsite local presence for Fen Ditton  will make representing local residence in the surrounding area really accessible and allow for locals to get involved in the democratic processes as well as accessing services provided by all local government organisations. The office has been provided by the Hill – Marshall partnership as part of the community facilities required in the planning conditions.

The office is above the community hall in the Hanger Building with a separate entrance, so if you have any concerns relating to local government feel free to pop in and get advise or help. The office will only be manned part time so call first to get opening times.

In addition to the monthly Parish Council meeting (every other month at the office, see agenda’s for details), where residents are welcome to attend and even join in (for max 15 minutes), Councillors and officers from South Cambs and County Council will be available (by appointment) if you wish to make any representations to them. They routinely attend the monthly Parish Councils meetings giving another opportunity to meet them.
